Spencer Hunt, aka enjoiboy24, has been a member of SNS since way back in 2009. We’ve had the pleasure of getting to know him through his regular uploads of videos and photos. After his most recent session at the legendary Burnside skatepark, we figured it was about time to shine a little more light on this Portland skater and proud SNS member.
Check out more of Spencer’s photos and videos by visiting his SNS profile.
SNS Name, hometown and age?
SH Spencer Hunt, Portland OR, 19.
SNS How did you hear about StillNotSponsored.com?
SH I saw one of your t-shirts on a friend of mine, logged on, and here we are.
SNS Burnside is such an iconic skatepark, how long have you been hitting it up?
SH Well, the first time I went there was when I was around 14 or so. But for the past 7 or 8 months I have been skating it a lot, because it makes you a lot better at other parks and has a great local crew.
SNS What are the biggest misconceptions about skating there?
SH That everyone there is an acholic/stoner, that the locals there are jerks, and that you can’t shred it your first time, you have to get used to the flow there.
SNS What should people know about Burnside before they try and skate there?
SH You have to give respect to everyone, even if they dont immediatly give you theirs. Be prepared to get some wierd looks as you drive in, its nothing bad it just happens. Never judge people by how they look; the sketchiest looking dude might be the nicest person you have ever met, so be cool. Never assume anything (how good someone is, that you’re the only one going, that the park wont be hard to skate, that you wont get a little hazing on occasion, etc…). Also, to be honest, you will see some drugs and alchohal like you would at any other park. Prepare to see some shredding, the likes of which you never have witnessed even on major company videos. Lastly, don’t try to hard, to be good, or to look cool. Just have fun and push once in a while to show you can shred. But all in all, have a good time, and if you see me say “hey, I saw you on SNS” and then you’ll have your first Burnside friend!
